Story Cottage is an “important element in the streetscape of seven small turn of the century houses”. The Park District was originally deeded to Nelson Story in 1872. One of the earliest settlers of Bozeman, Story drove the first herd of cattle up from Texas in 1866 and was the last private ‘Freighter’ to supply Union Fortifications along the ‘Bloody Bozeman Trail’ when that area was returned to the Sioux nation in 1868.

It is told the living room with its leaded glass windows was once a small shop; the ring of a bell brought the proprietor through the French doors to sell penny candy to the neighborhood children. Two bedrooms with queen beds, two baths including a jet tub in the newly added second bathroom, dining, living room and kitchen, pantry, laundry room, and sofa sleeper for additional sleeping make up this cozy and bright Victorian Cottage with accommodations for up to 5 persons. New and selected period pieces along with Phone and Cable TV/VCR complement the interior decor. A private fenced yard with grill completes the charming corner lot.
